How to Watch Short Dramas Offline on iPhone, Android and PC
Download public episodes as MP4 with dldrama, press Save file, and open them in your device's built-in player: Files or Photos on iPhone, Files or Gallery on Android, Films & TV or VLC on Windows, QuickTime or VLC on Mac. A one-to-three-minute vertical episode usually takes 10-50 MB.
Short dramas are made for spare minutes: a train ride, a queue, a flight. Those are exactly the moments when mobile data is weak or expensive. Saving public episodes ahead of time lets you watch short dramas offline without buffering. Here's how to do it on each device.
Step 1: Download and save the episodes
Paste a public ReelShort, DramaBox or PineDrama link into the short drama downloader, select the public episodes, and press Download selected. When each job shows Ready to save, press Save file. Until you do, the episode only exists in your browser's memory, and closing the tab discards it.
Where the files go on each device
- iPhone and iPad (Safari): Safari asks to download the file, then stores it in the Files app under Downloads. From Files you can play it directly or use Share → Save Video to put it in Photos.
- Android (Chrome): files go to the Downloads folder. Open them from the Files app, or from your gallery app once it has scanned the folder.
- Windows: files land in your Downloads folder and open in Films & TV, Media Player or VLC.
- Mac: files land in Downloads and open in QuickTime Player or VLC.
Which players work with the MP4 files
DramaBox and PineDrama episodes are the platforms' original MP4 files. ReelShort episodes are streamed as HLS segments, which dldrama joins into a standard MP4 with normal sample tables, so they open in QuickTime, the iOS Files app and other strict players, not just in browsers. If a file ever refuses to play, try VLC, which handles almost any MP4.
How much storage you need
Public short-drama episodes are usually 720×1280 vertical video and one to three minutes long, which works out to roughly 10-50 MB each. Ten free episodes of a series typically fit in a few hundred megabytes. The downloader stops any single episode over 128 MB, so a runaway file can't fill your device.
Keep your offline library organised
- Create a folder per series and move episodes into it right after saving.
- Keep the episode number in the filename so the order stays obvious.
- Your recently resolved series are listed under Recent in this browser, so you can come back for newly public episodes later.
- Delete episodes once you've watched them; they're easy to download again while they remain public.
Respect the creators
Offline copies are for your own viewing of episodes you're allowed to keep. Don't re-upload or share them, and support the series you enjoy by unlocking later episodes in the official apps. Our Disclaimer & Copyright Policy sets out the rules.
FAQ
Do downloaded short-drama episodes expire?
No. Once saved, the MP4 file is an ordinary video file on your device. It stays until you delete it, even if the episode later becomes locked on the platform.
Why can't I find the episode after downloading?
Make sure you pressed Save file after the job showed Ready to save. Then check your Downloads folder, or the Files app on iPhone.
Can I cast a downloaded episode to my TV?
Yes. Any player that can cast or AirPlay a local MP4 file, such as the Photos app on iPhone or VLC on Android, can send it to a TV.
