Short Drama Link Not Working? 8 Fixes for Failed Downloads
Most failed short-drama downloads are caused by the link (an app-only share link, a truncated URL, or an unsupported site), by the episode (locked, private, region-blocked or no longer public), or by the browser (closed tab, too many queued jobs, low memory). Use the full https:// page URL, choose public episodes, and save finished files before adding more.
Short-drama platforms change often, and their links come in many shapes. When dldrama can't resolve or download something, the error message usually points to one of the eight causes below. Work through them in order; the first three fix the majority of problems.
1. The link isn't a full web address
dldrama needs a complete HTTPS page URL. If you paste a share message, the downloader extracts the first https:// address it finds, but a truncated or edited link won't resolve. Open the link in your browser first, confirm the episode plays, and copy the address from the address bar.
2. The link comes from the mobile app
Share links generated inside an app sometimes open only in that app. dldrama accepts them only when they redirect to a supported web page on reelshort.com, dramabox.com or pinedrama.com. If yours doesn't, search for the series title on the website and copy that link instead.
3. The site isn't supported
For security, dldrama only connects to a short list of verified sites: ReelShort, DramaBox and pinedrama.com. Links from re-upload sites, video mirrors or other short-drama apps are rejected. Use the all-platform downloader to check which sources are currently supported.
4. The episode is locked or paid
If the series resolves but the episode you want is greyed out as "Locked or not public", the platform doesn't offer it publicly. That's not an error, and there's no workaround: dldrama doesn't unlock paid content. Watch it in the official app after unlocking it there.
5. The title isn't available on the web or in your region
Some series are released only in the app, and some are limited to certain countries. ReelShort, for example, marks some titles as not open to the web. When a platform doesn't serve a title publicly, dldrama reports that instead of showing episodes.
6. The platform changed its page
dldrama reads the structure of each platform's public pages. When a platform redesigns them, resolving can fail with a message that the page structure changed until the downloader is updated. Try again later, and check whether the same link still opens normally in your browser.
7. The download stopped partway
Network hiccups and upstream timeouts happen. Failed or cancelled jobs show a Retry button, which asks the platform for a fresh video address and starts over. If an episode is larger than 128 MB or has more than 500 segments, it is stopped on purpose to keep your browser stable; short-drama episodes are almost always well below that.
8. The browser ran out of room
Prepared files live in browser memory until you save them. The queue holds up to 24 jobs, and dldrama warns you when finished files use too much memory. Save the ready episodes, remove them from the queue, and then add more. Refreshing or closing the tab clears unsaved files.

Why does dldrama only accept a few websites?
Restricting connections to verified platform and video hosts prevents the service from being used to fetch arbitrary content, and keeps downloads predictable. New platforms are added only after their pages and video hosts are verified.
Will retrying a failed episode download it twice?
No. Retry restarts the same job with a fresh video address. Only finished files appear with a Save file button.
Is there a size limit for each episode?
Yes, 128 MB and 500 video segments per episode. These limits protect browser memory and are well above the size of a typical one-to-three-minute short-drama episode.
